The Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Prof. Kwesi Yankah and Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency, Hon. Barbara Asher Ayisi has reiterated government’s commitment to the promotion of technical and vocational education.
This was made known when a Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana – AHK Ghana paid a courtesy call on the deputy minister in her office on Tuesday.
According to the Deputy Minister, as part of His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo‘s economic transformation agenda, emphasis is being placed on the provision of quality TVET as one of the key ways of empowering the youth with relevant skills and competencies to take advantage of emerging jobs in the various sectors of the economy.
The Germany delegation made up of Professor Dr. Dietmar Frommberger, Mrs. Lena Krichewsky-Wegener, Mr. Ernst Junke and Richard Mensah promised to support Ghana with the requisite skills and experience which will aim at increasing productivity in the area of Technical, Vocational and Education Training.
Others present at the ministry were Dr. Yaw Osei Adu Twum – Deputy Minister of Education – General Education and Professor Kwesi Yankah – Minister of State-Tertiary.
